Windows 10 Fall 2018 Update:
Updating to the newest Windows 10 Fall update? Wacom has identified a few issues within the latest update. Pan/Scroll is not working correctly in some applications. Also, Modifier Clicks do not work when assigned to pen buttons or ExpressKeys, see the screenshot below. The Wacom driver team has submitted a bug report with Microsoft for these issues and will continue to work with them until it is fixed. More information can be found here: here

Bought a new Cintiq Pro 16 - Connectivity a Headache

So my new Cintiq Pro 16 has recently arrived. Little did I realize that the included cables were not enough to connect the device to my PC.

The cables which included with the device were (1) the power cable, (2) a USB-C cable, (3) a USB-A 3.0 cable, (4) a mini-Displayport cable.

My PC does not have a mini-Displayport nor a USB-C port with DP alternate mode, only the usual USB-A, HDMI, and Displayport ports. Because of this I can only use my Cintiq Pro as a 16-inch version of an Intuos with no display whatsoever.

I have yet to try different 3rd-party adapters and cables just to make the display light up. I will even try and see if I could get it to work with an HDMI adapter. If these fail, I guess my best hope would be to get a Thunderbolt 3 AIC card for my motherboard, which is guaranteed to have the right USB-C port with DP alternate mode -- but it will arrive 2 months from now and I was so excited to use the Cintiq to its fullest when it arrived just yesterday.

I'm pretty sure the Cintiq Pro 16 is an amazing pen display tablet. But it's a shame that such a great (and expensive) product is met with petty connectivity issues like these. How could Wacom not consider the fact that most PCs don't have USB-C and mini-DP ports? If they can design a beautiful and complex tablet like this, how hard would it be to simply include a set of cables that would connect with PCs? This is disappointingly a clear lack of communication between Wacom and its consumer base.

Maybe the solution will be to buy DP to mini DP cable like I did. My adapter for mini DP broke few days after I bought Cintiq 24 so I bought DP to mini DP cable with no adapters to connect the tablet to my iMac. Now it's working just fine...
