Thanks Wacom5. Are there any plans to expand the firmware patch to include the other models? I have a pro 16, and it suffers from exactly the same issue - the fan starts up on full shortly after power on, and runs at that speed continuously regardless of brightness etc. I would compare the sound to a mid-powered hair dryer, and it gets annoying, particularly as nothing else I use is this loud. Any fix would be greatly appreciated.

So far, we have not seen the need to extend this to other units. I can't tell if we will ever be able to do it or not. If you think your device is too noise, please contact the support team and have the unit checked. You might have an hardware issue with the fans.

Once the fan has switched off, then he jumped again and runs audibly.

So you switched the fan speed to Low Speed and they are still generating the same amount of noise? Please make sure you pressed "Save" before you closed the Settings window. If you still have issues contact our support: https://support.wacom.com

Well, I finally dropped the money on a 24 Pro, and was super happy to install it with my brand new ergo flex arm. Noticed the firmware update for the fans was already installed, which is nice.

...I started feeling pretty let down when ten minutes later the Cintiq's fan started humming repeatedly every 25 seconds despite the fact that I had selected (and saved) the ''low speed'' option...

:(

Now I am considering returning it. I bought it under the assumption that this firmware update was supposed to stop the fans from being erratic and noisy...even my desktop PC is less noisy than that...

Consider contacting our customer support before you return the device. If there is an issue with Fan Noise even after you installed the firmware and changed the settings, there could be an hardware issue with the fans. https://support.wacom.com

Can you tell me what the Low Fan option is supposed to be doing? I really don't get it... the screen is not warm at all to the touch and I hear the fans starting and going down every 30 seconds, while yesterday the screen was relatively warm to the touch for hours and I didn't hear the fans start once... I really have a hard time to understand what is going on...

I'll try contacting support later today.

That doesn't sound like the expected behaviour but it's really hard to tell from here... Your best bet is to check with the support team.

Unfortunately, I have the same problem.
I bought a Cintiq Pro 24 in December. The quality of the packaging, the Ergo stand and the Cintiq inspired me.
But when I started the Cintiq there was a loud fan noise. On the Internet I have found a tip that there are new firmware that solves the problem.
Ok, I've installed 1.0.5.0 and reduced the fan speed. Wow, the Cintiq was not heard at the next launch.
Unfortunately after 10 minutes the fan started to run again. He is not too loud, but you hear him.
The really annoying thing is that the fan switches one more after 45 minutes (approximately 6dB). And that's really annoying, because you're sitting right on the device. He starts. Goes out again, jump again. And that, although the device is barely warm.
Ok, I've contacted the support and after some back and forth, I was able to exchange the cintiq.
Now I'm sitting on my new cintiq, the firmware 1.0.5.0 was already installed this time. And what's going on?????? The same problem!!!!
It was not a production error. Wacom actually builds these loud fans in such an expensive device.
It is such a pity. Otherwise everything is 1a, but that does not work. Wacom please stop this ugly noise. There are many noiseless fans on market.

Please check with the team. The repairs team should inspect the device and the fans.

Hi SimonCS,
do you've fixed the problem with the fan noise?

Hi,
can anyone confirm the noise? With the firmware 1.0.5 the first fan start after 10 minutes, the second fan (loud) starts at 45 minutes and keep going.
I'm using a Mac Powerbook Pro (2013), MiniDisplay cable (with adapter to thunderbolt, btw: very closely to the other plugs :-(( ), brightness 40%, resolution: 4K. The repairs team thinks it would be normal.
Unfortunately, it's the same problem with HDMI connection and (the smaller) FullHD resolution.

Thanks
