Wacom Feel driver for Tablet PC. no more middle click ?

Postby cannibalox » Tue 30. Apr 2019, 16:45

Hi,
it seems the latest Wacom Feel drivers (Wacom Component Driver version 7.6-22) do NOT give the option to map the middle click button on any of the barrel buttons of the pen for Tablet PC users.
My brand new HP Elite x2 1013 g3 (Wacom AES 2.0 pen, driver 7.5.1-37 & 7.6-22) is almost useless because of that, whereas with my previous Lenovo Yogo 720 15 (older wacom Feel driver 7.3.4-38) still has the ability to use the stylus buttons as right click 1 middle click.
Note that I can't install the lenovo drivers on the HP even though the digitizer/pens are using the same Wacom tech (I can switch pens back and forth of both computers without any issues, with pressure sensitivy).

Previous versions of the Feel Driver (it was also called ISD Dualtouch driver) had the options to associate middle click and right click to the barrel buttons of the pen:
Wacom Feel driver 7.3.4-38 : can remap middle click button (used on Lenovo Yoga 720 15IIKB for instance)
Wacom Feel driver 7.3.4-47 : can remap middle click button (but right click tiggers scroll down + right click simultaneously)
Wacom Feel driver 7.3.4-52 revA : can remap middle click button (but right click tiggers scroll down + right click simultaneously)
Wacom Feel driver 7.5.1-29 + : no more middle click option

Can you please re-enable the option to map 'MIDDLE MOUSE CLICK' to the barrel buttons of the stylus on the WACOM FEEL DRIVERS ?
This is crucial to use any 3D/dcc software such as Autodesk Maya, 3DS Max, Zbrush, Substance Painter, 3D Coat, Blender....

Alternatively, can you point me to the latest version of the driver where that function is still available ?
thanks

Hi.
Thank you for your feedback. I was not aware this was the case. I will report this to the team. There is probably a reason this was removed, most likely technical.

I'm not sure if this was working in driver 7.4

Update: The driver team reports that this function was removed due to technical issues. This will be fixed and the function will return in a later version. Most likely the next update will already address this but I can't say for sure.

Dear Wacom Team,
I just wanted to ask if there is any update on that issue?

I am experiencing the exact same issues as cannibalox. Basically I am using the old drivers to actually use my bamboo ink on my lenovo miix 720.
With the new drivers the pen is really not usably if you try working with software like Blender or any other creative program that needs a middle mouse click. And there are many programs that require that button.

Is there a roadmap we can refer to?

Hello. As a matter of fact, the last feel driver release fixed this issue. Middle click should now be an option.

I am also facing the Wacom Tablet Driver Not Responding issue. I have tried refreshing the Wacom service but still, the issue exists. If there is any suggestion of how to solve it then please inform me so that I can resolve it.

The error message you show is not related with the feel driver. Either this is the wrong thread to discuss this, or there is some confusion.
Could you please tell us more about your setup and the issue itself?
