Postby azure-rapid » Sun 15. Jul 2012, 20:31

I connected my Wacom Bamboo pen & touch CTH-670 to my desktop computer (Windows 7) via the USB cable that came in the box and an icon appeared on the taskbar the icon then change and a message popped up on my screen telling me that the driver failed to install successfully.

The Tablet light blinks when I connect it to the computer but the touch area does not work

Can you check if the tablet is recognized from the computer when using another USB port?
Please keep in mind that the tablet needs a powered USB hub, or better a USB port directly in the Computer.
I recommend to additionally cross-check the behavior on another computer and if possible with a second USB-cable (standard Micro-USB) to assure that neither tablet or cable have a defect.

I connect the tablet directly to the back of my computer via the USB cable
I have tried using a different USB port and faced the same problem
I have tried using a different cable than the one that came with the tablet & I experienced the same problem

When I open the Devises & Printers window I see Bamboo (CTH-670) listed under Devises
The icon has a yellow exclamation point in the corner
when i right click the icon i am given the choice of create shortcut, troubleshoot & properties
in the general tab of the properties window the devise information shows up just fine
but in the hardware tab the devise status is - this device is not configured correctly. (code 1)
and the manufacturer is listed as unknown

I bought the tablet on July 15 2012
so it's pretty much fresh out the box

I have tested the tablet on two laptops and a solid blue light appears and it works as a mouse
I have been told that the problem is most likely due to the USB ports in my desktop computer

I would not expect the USB-Port as such.
But please check the settings for the USB ports in the BIOS and in Windows.
Some settings for energy saving disable the ports and hinder correct usage of a tablet.

Anyway, good to hear that the tablet is working.

I recommend to get in contact with a specialist who can help you troubleshooting the USB recognition issue on your computer.
Without being able to look into the internals of your machine and your Windows it is nearly impossible to let you know the next needed steps.
