Cintiq 13HD "no device detected", doesn't respond to input

My Cintiq 13HD has been working fine until recently, the Cintiq would stop responding to pen input/express keys, essentially just becoming a monitor. On the Wacom Desktop software, it would stop recognizing the Cintiq as a connected device. The problem seems to be an issue with the connection between the cable and the Cintiq (perhaps the port?), as jostling it would either worsen or fix the problem. Now the Cintiq has stopped responding to input at all. The tablet is only about 3 years old, and had been in storage for 2 of those years, and Wacom wants $428 for repairs! Anyone have this problem in the past and fixed it? I figured since it's out of warranty anyway, I might as well try to fix it myself.
