Simple solution to the click/modifier pen bug

Postby Dinomightkaroar » Thu 14. Feb 2019, 03:04

Wacom has been completely dragging their feet and I've been without pen-enabled brush size for MONTHS.

A quick internet search and I found this very helpful resource. It fixed it for me.

you can restore your backup afterwards and it still works so you don't need to reassign all your express keys.

This solution has been known for a long time and this is not a Wacom issue. The issue is between Photoshop and Windows Ink. Recently a few updates have been released by Microsoft that should help with this issue but it is also on Adobe's side to fix their software.

If that's the case, then Wacom needs to publicize their workaround. I've been reading the pink prompt on the forums for months describing the problem. Wacom says they are "working with microsoft to solve the problem," yet offer no workaround. So it's well and good that this workaround has been known, but Wacom certainly hasn't told us. I'm just generally a little disgruntled at the poor communication to the customers. It's been an issue with Wacom for years.

Adobe has not even officially endorsed this workaround. This is all based on what users found and shared on Adobe forums. It might stop working at any moment Adobe decides to change something with an update. Same goes for Microsoft since they are the owners of Windows Ink and Wintab.

I have linked this solution in many other threads to steer the users in the right direction but we cannot advertise this as a full solution or workaround.
