ZBook X2 G4 - Prevent stylus from carry over to 2nd monitor?

Postby varxtis » Fri 2. Apr 2021, 18:24

Hey, I hope all are well in these crazy times. I've passively pursue a solution to this issue for the past couple of years, but haven't found anything, so I decided to start taking it more seriously as its been bothering me more and more.

So, I have my ZBook X2 G4 connected to a second monitor. Works great. But when I want to start drawing and using the stylus on the Zbook itself (Monitor 1), it's either interrupted by or interacts with Montior 2. Does anyone know of a way to keep all Stylus related functions and interaction restricted to the Zbook, while leaving mouse functions unaffected. Anything through HP settings, Wacom settings, or even Microsoft settings?

Best regards,

Hey Varxtis,

First of all I moved this thread to a different topic.

Your problem sounds like the settings got corrupted, while updating your graphic drivers.
To fix this please update to the latest drivers. This includes Wacom and Windows driver. After that please reset the Wacom driver preferences.

I hope this solves your issue.

Have a great day.
Kind regards.

Thank you for your response
1. "First of all I moved this thread to a different topic."
can you link the topic pls?

2. are you saying that by design, the pen corsor isnt supposed to go into the next monitor when the ZBook has a 2nd monitor connected as extended? That the fact that is going into the other monitor is a glitch?

I had just updated related drivers the day prior to posting this when speaking with an HP workstation support rep about a problem I was experiencing with the HP dock. He basically had me update everything. This includes windows updates. I'm certain this is not a glitch, but a feature flaw. Also, though the Zbook is built with Wacom parts and design, there are no Wacom drivers. I posted here because the unit uses a stylus system much like any other Wacom tablet.

Can you check with HP what is the pen technology used? Are you using a Wacom Stylus like the Bamboo Ink or an HP stylus?
This is definitely a software issue. If no Wacom driver is being used, then I don't know how we can help.
